Ultrasound RF in-vivo data

The data was obtained from a healthy 33 years old male. The audio data was sampled for both the reverse and forward flow. The data for the measurements are given below:

The data for the measurements are given below:

Ultrasound scanner: B-K Medical A/S type 3535
Scan mode:Duplex
Transducer: B-K 8556, 3.2 MHz linear array probe
B-mode frame rate: 27 f/s
B-mode gain: 30%
Doppler gain: 85%
Pulse repetition frequency: 3.5 kHz
Sampling frequency: 15 MHz
Resolution: 12 bits samples

The data can be obtained from the ftp-server from the directory:

https://courses.healthtech.dtu.dk/22485/files/ult_data/in-vivo/rf_data/

Several files are found. The properties are listed in the following table:

Vessel File name Samples per line RF lines Angle Depth Range gate Notes
Aorta, logitudinal scan pma2.mat 128 8000 52° 50 mm 2 mm See note below
Hepatic vein, oblique pmh1.mat 128 8000 Not recorded 45 mm 2 mm

Note: The first 56 samples for each RF line in the data found in the file pma2.mat (Aorta, logitudinal scan) is corrupted and should be discarded. The data from sample 57 to sample 128 are correct, and can be used for velocity estimation.

Depth is the distance from the transducer surface to the center of the range gate used during the measurement.

The files should be downloaded in binary format. The files can be directly read and manipulate with Matlab. The variable pmXX contains the RF data with one column for each RF puls-echo line.
